Tubing pumps operate by attaching the pump barrel assembly directly to a tubing string. The plunger assembly is linked to the sucker rod string and moves in a reciprocating motion, aiding in the production process. A significant benefit of tubing pumps is that if there are problems with the traveling valve or fixed valve, only the valve side components like the sucker rod, piston, and extractor must be replaced. This eliminates the requirement to remove the entire pump and tubing string from the well, leading to decreased labor intensity and operational expenses.
